Seductively Pinky ^_^

As it happened: Israel-Gaza violence

Oh yes...it is very seductive indeed. While browsing the net early Saturday morning, i stumbled upon a photo of Pink colored lake.

At first thought "ok,this lake must have a lot of something in it that induces such color which will be colorless when we put the water someplace else". I nearly move on to another article when i saw "The colour is permanent, as it does not alter when the water is taken in a container" from wikipedia.

There i was. In awe.

There are actually at least 8 spots where these pinky lakes are spotted apart from the infamous Lake Hillier in Western Australia.

A pink lake is a lake that has a reddish or pink colour due to the presence of algae that produces carotenoids (organic pigments), such as Dunaliella salina - a type of halophile green micro-algae especially found in sea salt fields

so, this factors actually make those gorgeous lakes seductively pinky.

Dusty Rose Lake, Canada

This pink lake located in British Columbia, Canada, is quite unusual, unknown and probably unique. The water of this lake is not salty at all, and not contain algae, but it is still pink. In the picture you can see the pink water that runs into the lake. Water color comes from the unique composition of the rocks in this area (rock flour from the glacier).

There is even a certain Lake Retba where we can float similar to Dead Sea due to the high salt content of the   lake. Interestingly, this spot is also usually the finishing point of Dakar Rally.
