Packing for Hiking : Pack NESCAFE sekali

Ok. Neh sambungan dari post pasal stamina.
kat sini, cara2 nak packing barang.
Semua orang tau kot..ye ke? ce check balik cara korang pack khemah, barang2, baju, sleeping bag?
aku takla kata yang kat bawah neh betul tp kalau agak2 nak follow tuh, terbaek la! (bak kata Boboi Boy).

Ok. Kaedahnya, takde sapa yang boleh kata "no, this is how it's the way to be" because, afterall, it all depends on your comfortability and kemampuan. kenapa aku kata kemampuan?
Contoh ye:

Ini backpack. Sizes vary. Google la sendirik. Contoh2 bag.

Moralnya, aku nak bagitau, ikut kesesuaian masa, tempat & bagaimana.
Ok, contoh ye.

Agak ko nak pegi masuk hutan, laluan banyak merentas air. Apa ko nak bawak?
samada ko letak barang2 dalam beg plastik then put dalam bag atau opt for waterproof bag mcm kat bawah.

So, back to our main subject. How to pack? What to pack?
Aku tak tulis sendiri sebab ada yang dah tulis about it . damnn! (phewwwww).

Have fun reading.

There's no one right answer to this question: It depends on what kind of pack you have and where you're going to hike. The general principle is that lighter-weight items go at the bottom, heavier items are at the top and close to your body. However, if you are going to be scrambling or hiking off-trail on rough terrain or snow, you might want to pack some of the heavier items a little lower to bring down your center of gravity.

Sleeping bag. Most packs are designed with a compartment at the bottom for your sleeping bag. If your pack has dividers that separate the sleeping bag from the rest of your gear, use them to take some of the weight off your sleeping bag. (Overly compressing a down sleeping bag can damage the down, resulting in less loft and, thus, less warmth.)

Clothes go in next. But it's a good idea to stash a few of your warm clothes—hat, gloves, and an insulating layer—and your rain gear in an outside pocket where you can easily get them.
Tents and tarps. There are a couple of choices for your tent or tarp. Most packs have a separate compartment (where the sleeping bag goes) that is accessible via a zipper. If your pack has such a compartment, see if you can stuff the tent under your sleeping bag. That way, you don't have to unpack everything to get your tent out if it's raining when you want to make camp. This placement also works for packing a wet tent because it won't drip on everything. Be sure, however, that the tent and sleeping bag are in waterproof stuffsacks. Tent poles go strapped to the outside: Tie them on tight!
Food, fuel, and cooking utensils. Store the fuel upright and away from your food, in case of an accidental spill. Many hikers put their bottles in an outside compartment. Some utensils can have hard or sharp edges, so be sure they're not poking at your pack.

Personal items. Squeeze these in wherever they fit.

Outside compartments. Use these for items you'll need during the day: rain gear, a few warm clothes, pack-cover, water filter, water, lunch, snacks, TP, sunscreen, mosquito goop, and your camera.
Mattresses. Most hikers roll up their sleeping pads and strap them to the outside of the packs. Some smaller mattresses fit inside a backpack, where they are better protected from accidental encounters with cactus needles and barbed wire fences.

so, dah dapat tak the general idea? hopefully this helps as it helps me.
by the way, WHATEVER IT IS,sila tinggalkan handbag ye.
ishk ishk ishk budak syiba neh...(sorry babe)..
Below pix masa kitaorang naik bukit kat Jerejak Island, Penang, Valve Trip 2009.

NESCAFE Original & Stamina naik Gunung Nuang.

Kenapa NESCAFE original? sebab aku suka & aku punya pasal. ada dok depan aku neh haaa...tpi posa taww...tgk la jek la...

sebenornya, post neh takde kaitan dengan production atau pembelian and kehalalan keharaman product tuh pun..

aku nak post pasal nak build-up stamina for hiking/climbing and packing barang2 sewaktu dengannya.
Kena ada cara boh...takleh main redah je...KENAPA? sebab aku dok tengok orang plan nk gi hiking climbing segala tapi aku tak berani join..sebab pancit! hahahha.....so, ingat nak la build up sikit..baca punya baca, neh la summary yang aku dok baca dan berteori..praktikal? hurmmm...lepas, raya, lepas, oct trip, lepas 2011.. boley?

Pulau Jerejak, Penang. 2009.

Ok. Stamina Build-up.

1. Jom berjogging. Kat mana? mana2 yang patut tapi janganlah atas katil! aku selalu dapat jawapan mcm neh bila tanya member..

2. Hiking. Area dekat2 jek dan yang sangat minor. kalau dah tinggi mcm tempat yng ko nak daki tuh, baik ko panjat/hike je terus! tak payah pikir pasal nak tambah stamina dowww...err  Busut kat belakang rumah?

3.Ceraikan Lift dengan talak 3. Naik tangga. mcm aku selalu buat. hehe..tp mcm takde kesan jek..sebab buat 3-4 kali seminggu jek. pastuh rumah tingkat 4 jek. Haaa...jom naik tangga kat batu caves, nak?

4. Dengar2...dengar je la..tak pernah buat..Yoga & pilates can help. hello! 2 tuh jenis exercise yek..bukan size order kat KFC mcm dinner plate tuh!

ok. yang kat atas tuh, THE VERY LEAST we can do..the objective sebenornye adalah Endurance and Toughness baby! Neh aku jumpa webby yang tulis pasal neh. Ko nak follow, ske ati. Tanak? ske ati aku.

On a 5-plus-day trek, the difference between a pleasant escape and a torture-fest boils down to physical preparation. Endurance is the ticket, but you need endurance that goes beyond daylong stamina. You need "toughness"--that gritty resilience that'll have you bounding out of the tent come morning to do it all over again. Use these guidelines to get there. Allow 6 to 10 weeks to train.

BUILD ENDURANCE
Weekdays - Gradually improve your staying power by increasing the length of your cardiovascular workouts. Start with 30 to 50 minutes; build to 75. Shoot for three or four sessions a week at a high intensity (a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10).

Weekends - Once a week, put yourself through a marathon session. Like the distance runner who depends on long runs for endurance, prepare for a multiday trip with a moderately intense (5 to 6) power hike of 4 to 5 hours. (New hikers, start with 90 minutes, build to multiple hours by adding 15 to 30 minutes each week.) Hike at an aggressive pace with poles and a light (10-pound) pack, preferably on hilly terrain. Take breaks and don't forget fuel--a sandwich, or sports drinks and energy bars.

BUILD TOUGHNESS
After 3 to 4 weeks of conditioning, string together the above workouts with no rest day in between to mimic the demands of a weeklong outing. Start with 3 days in a row (including the weekend workout); build to 6. Follow these guidelines to avoid injury.

  1. Increase the length of your workouts gradually (use guidelines above).
  2. Rest 1 day every week.
  3. Mix up your workouts. Variety not only helps you avoid a repetitive stress injury, it also strengthens stabilizing muscles (those little ones we seldom think of until they're screaming on day.
  4. Power hike, run trails, climb hills, take a spin class, or do a circuit workout using a treadmill and elliptical trainer, varying the level and incline on both machines.

Abseiling+Canyoning (+trekking+camping)

Barely 2 weeks after my camping santai at Teluk Batek, on 21st July night, we joined another convoy to Berkelah, Maran, Pahang.

Eventnye:
Date: 22-23 July 2011
Venue: Hutan Lipur Berkelah Maran, Pahang
Activity: Abseiling, Canyoning, Camping, TRekking.
Cost: RM150.00 + RM50 /pax (Fuel+Toll on sharing basis) FULL BOARD. (FOOD, tents provided)
Organiser: Kalakatu Outdoor @ Mimi Zuliana.

Nope, this is not camping santai. hence, i didn't really invite the rest of the usual pack.
Mula2 taknak pegi pun...lepas camping tuh, terus nekad nak pegi. Pastuh tag c syed and tanya c anas.
hmm...dua2 ikut jugak. okla ada member..

After work terus blah pegi PETRONAS gombak for dinner and tunggu the convoy members.
mak aiii...depa neh ikut jam brazil agaknya. Janji jam 8. Jam 11 baru gerak.
tapi memandangkan kami neh ikut convoy orang, duduk jek la atas tar tuh.lepak.nasib baek aku tak duduk atas highway.

Mulalah sesi berkenalan dengan is Zil, bro Aero, Sis Mimi, Dal, Amyz, Shima, Fiza, Pijon, Ani, Ciwan, Khalid, Sofian to name a few tak termasuk guide (dan anot2 yg ada)..hahah

I think Modt people tau Abseiling tuh apa..tapi canyoning? This is from Wikipedia.

abseiling
Abseiling (from German: abseilen meaning "to rope down"), rappelling in American English,[1] is the controlled descent down a rock face using a rope; climbers use this technique when a cliff or slope is too steep and/or dangerous to descend without protection.
canyoning
traveling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling, and/or swimming.

In our trip, we abseil down the rock in below pics. Untuk aku yg gayat, awal2 mmg payah nak pujuk diri tp bila dah dok bawah tuh...ok la....sikit.

Yang canyoning plak...hampeh...aku mmg taknak buat dah masa tuh...kena psycho dgn Syed and Anas..so, last2 buat la...

well, at least aku dah buat. ko ada?

We started convoy kat Gombak sampai Berkelah. Park keta kat area restoran tuh.
Ada nearby Masjid so bleh tumpang bersihkan diri and tukar baju.
apa buat sini? Kemas barang and bahagikan barang sama rata. Barang apa?
Barang dapur especially. MAKNANYA, peserta pun kena bawak sebab tukang masak dah x cukup tgn. Pastuh letak beg dalam lori, jalan gi Pintu masuk Sg Berkelah.

Pastuh bila seme dah sampai, lepas briefing and doa (penting tuh), trekking started. Since jalan basah, ada gak ornag terpeleot la..tp x siyes. tp jalan agak mencabar. Kalau tangan tak free (aka bwk barang), susah sikit nak gerak. Headlamp a must ye. gelap. dalma hutan kot. Bukan BB walk neh.
Trekking took about 45 minutes.

Then sampai campsite.naikkan khemah (aku & syed bwk khemah sendirik), pastuh tido jap.

Area Masak

Kul 7 dah bangun sebab nak book tempat bersih2kan diri, Kami yg pompuan neh panggil "sesi jangan pandang belakang". hahah..faham2la...tepi sungai kot..manade toilet mcm kat Chilling & Teluk Batek...then after breakfast, continue with Abseiling & Canyoning.

Wa memang cuak.Tak dapat dinafikan. cuak seyyyyyyy....tapi yg penting, dengar briefing, follow apa guide cakap and insyaallah, everything's gonna be ok (eventho selepas ko hempap guide..hahah).Yg penting, guide hot2 dude.tak caya? klu ko ada add wa kat FB, lu tau la...hahah..

Lepas setel, lunch then, lepak la...pe lagi...bercerita, berkenal2an, berlompat2an, dan bertiduran pun ada...

masa camping, ada jugak hujan. kalau single layer, mmg tapaula khemah tuh..

2nd day aka Last day, pagi tuh pegi trekking ke atas. Waterfall Berkelah neh ada 7 tingkat. Kami camping kat 3rd kolam kot..ye ke...ada mausk paper hari tuh..gambar dak2 neh sommersault pun ada..
tapi neh depa bwk group lain la..

tgk pix suda...trekking 45 minutes jugak..one way oke..brp lama kat atas,terpulang..ikut berapa lama korang nak lompat, berenang, bericnta masa trekking dan ikut jgak berapa lama bersajak pantun segala...wahahahha...yela..maklumla..dah kena tinggal dek kawan2 yg kata awal kata "kita jaga group kita, jangan pecah".choyy...

petang dlm 3pm, trekking turun bawah TAPI ROUTE LAIN. x sehorror route naik...adoila....best...
balik convoy gak tp tinggal 5 keta...singgah R&R Temerloh je...pastuh jumpa jap kat Tol Karak & Gombak then pecah..

biasala..setiap convoy mesti ada ups & downs..ada kelebihan & kekurangan..tp kita terima seadanya as experience...lagi2 bila ikut group orang..kita ikut rentak..ok anot2 sekalian?

aik??? +Trip = Camping Santai at Teluk Batik (Chalet Impian)

rasa mcm dah berkurun tak update blog..tp last entry...June 2011.tak lah lama mana pun.
so,mcm biasa. kaki tak senang duduk mesti carik activity kan.

jadinye, 9-10 July pegila camping santai kat Teluk Batik.

Area pantai ke area chalet?
Besar bezanya tuh. sebab:

Area Pantai:
1. Public toilet tutup kul 9mlm.
2. Betul2 tepi laut (best)
3. terlalu open.
4. free.

Area chalet:
1. Socket, toilet, segala 24 hours.
2. Privacy sikit.
3. xlah jauh sgt dr beach.
4. RM10/kapla.

last2, kitaorang pilih area chalet Impian. Yg penting, kemudahan yg aku sebut kat atas ada & bersih.
Alaa...camping santai kot...bukan hardcore sampai nk kena korek lubang wat..paham2 jek la..

camping santai pun, preparation kena betul gak especially mende2 yg diguna ramai..controh, tarp tuk area masak, serving plates+containers, enough drinking water, rations...selalunya, bab2 neh + collect duit+sediakan bhn mentah +shoot2 email aku yang setelkan.

bab2 itinerary+timing + convoy arrangement syed setelkan, bab2 masak, aku tgk sapa yg join.
Slalunya aku mintak tolong2 anak2 dara geng2 nita, ili, ana, etc.Sebab klu camping santai, ramai yg pegi.

Tp convoy kali neh ke TB mmg best, informative, membuka mata dan....membuat aku demam.
convoy kali neh sampai 8 keta..average 4 orang. ramai tuuuu...
malam2 buta ikut budak2 neh gi beach fishing...best jugak mancing neh..lagi2 bila ada kwn...
tp aku tak ble mancing kot...abis patah joran2 tuh aku buat..

route kami? Since we ol bertolak dr Glenmarie (office obviously) , we ol ikut Guthrie then the new highway, Latar, then jalan lama Kuala Sgor sampai ke Lumut. Balik pun mcm tuh.

makan tengahri kitaorang berhenti kat kedai area TB jugak...glamer kedai tuh...lupa nk snap pix food dia...sebab? sambal belacan pun siap dah letak dlm pinggan cenonet asing2 ha..kiut!!!

roadblock? xyah citer la banyaknye sebabkan BERSIH 2.0 tuh kan..balik pun ikut jalan yg sama except terlajak gi ijok sikit sebab budak2 neh nk belasah doyan...aku x makan sgt sebab sora dah rock gitu..
tp aku sempat sambar seketul..SEKETUL ok, bukan sebijik ha...hambek ko...terus demam...

all in all...it wa a good trip...sebab kalau dah beach area, banyakla mende leh buat...:D Ngeeeeeeeeeeee..

contoh activity?

Panjat memanjat

Volleyball rule sendirik

 Skodeng orang balik mancing

Naik bot (hmm ntah kenapa aku naik ntah)

Posing TUK MAJALAH Playgay..eh ada ke?

jATUH dari Banana Boat (tp nampak mcm Pencil Boat!!!)

Lompat2..test daya tarikan graviti

Gosok daki ngan pasir...sian pasir tuh..

Rafting 180 degree...fulamak..lain tuh..

Skodeng anak jantan orang

dan ...mcm biasa..tgk sapa paling kuat tumbuk sambal..
