Dinner & Such

The theme for year 2013 was Black & Purple.

Hence, everyone was purplish on 1st February 2013.

It was held in hmmmm..apa nama restaurant itu..lupa daaaa

Italian resto la..sebelah je dengan arabic resto yg agak glamer kat situ and tak jauh dari Baitulmal Kg Pandan.

These few days were filled with invitations and sadly, we could only obliged to fulfill a handful few.
First , there was the trip to Kg Cheras Baru to Ida's engagement cum open house. after an hour trying to find street no 43 (as tipped by locals) and decided to go home, the happily engaged Ida managed to check her turned-off phone and get her sister to pick us up. My remedy? the Daging Salai masak lemak, sayur tempoyak (dunno what daun la) and the sambal belacan , was, damn delicious musciuos luscious ..i forgot to take pics!! yg panas nye, my husband's fren used to stay around here and he couldn't recall of being in the area!!!

In the afternoon, off to go to a birthday party cum open house in Kelana Jaya. Zie's house is waaaayyy easier to find for the fact that it's situated in a Taman perumahan and the area is somewhat familiar. Aiman (3+) and Ira (1+) were happily cutting and eating off their ultraman and mickey mouse decorated cake. Banyak nye PRRC member (Proton Replica Rally Club)..replica? what's dat even mean? again, forgot to take photo.

Today, off we go to SMSS BATCH OF 94 open house hosted by Md Ahirudin & Alin this year. as usual, it's a potluck event and as usual i will bring cikedis..shut up!! the event went fine and i remembered to take photos eventho not much.

Then we sped off to sec 7 shah alam for my dear hubby's mini gath at Manja's house. nice house, i would say. dunno whether the plates are of VANTAGE but they sure look very english. her whole house is filled with rose themed deco and suffice to say,nice house, nice neighbourhood and nice decos.

at home, editing photos and all, no dinner!!! not at all. (does maggi & quaker oat counts as food?)

* sigh* esok tak cuti. but i proved myself as a good co-driver as even i forgot to take all the maps readily printed out on Fri, i could find ways and means to find my way and thanks to Google map which can pinpoint md ahirudin's house ..easy peasy..

TW Deeparaya 2008

The event started at 5.30pm with short 5 sentences opening speech by Mr Tan and voila, the makan2 started and successfully added 2kg to my weight.*sigh*.
In short, many people couldn't attend the event due to prior engagement with customers, outstation, and deepavali holiday.
suffice to say, we could eat all we want and yes, we do tapau home...miahahaha.
the best dressed winners are:
Men best: Zahrul - reason: he put up a brooch on his songkok and hence differentiates him from the other similar looking staffs.
Men runner-up: En Rahman - maybe because he was loud? well, he did shines tho with his green attire.
Lady best: Vasanthi _ without a doubt! she has got the most bling2 attire and her colourful saree is superb!! loved it.
Lady Runner up: Yvonne - the only chinese with kebaya (i think la). black kebaya . so, she must have been outstanding (tho some people do question this one because Jo was even more outstanding with her colourful punjabi suit).
~ this scenario sounds familiar. hmm....~

anyway, it ended around 8 and the Party Plan caterer was very effective in clenaing up inclusive of taking Fariha's plate while she was still enjoying her food. damn it..y u senyap jek? haha..
since, there were not so many people, hence the event was..in my words, less glamour and the people dressed up ..normally.

Hari Raya 2008

TW preparation for Raya...aku jugak...

Spent this year raya at Kuala Terengganu and compared to last year, this year looked a bit..kureng meriah..is it because the oil price? or was it simply due to the hot weather? For whatever that counts i am blessed that Sofiya is A-OK and happily discharged from Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah on the raya morning itself. She was diagnosed with Broncho Pneumonia and alhamdulillah, she no longer cough non-stop.

Well, this year raya theme is supposed to be Purple but somehow, we didnt manage to take any family picture except few snaps here and there. How strange. Mokteh nye father passed away peacefully on 2nd day of Raya. Al-Fatihah. This year raya holiday was short (1 week only).Due to

1. im on unpaid leave - cuti sudah habis.

2. Adam sudah skola already.

3. mcm tak fun sgt raya this year. maybe the 3rd raya thing i guess...

I felt soooo homesick this year. Maybe because this is the 3rd raya i spent away from my kg. January comes..bonus time...beli ticket.

Malam rayaku

Aku x brapa sedih pun wlupn malam raya kt hosp kt. Mayb the fact that I WILL discharge sofiya by the time the pakar comes at 6am 2moro. Blk kg kna raya la beb. Pastu,im grateful that oya's fever finally subsides. Rupa2nya- bronchopneumonia.lung bact. infection. Bt i 1der if kie can manage the hse 2nite wth my mil? I hpe so. Oops. X write long.on hp bebeh-blambk la bil tepon gua. Slmt hari raya.maaf zahir batin.

sampai jugak aku sekeluarga di Terengganu , saturday, Sept 27 2008.
We've decided to bertolak pagi sebab aku masih teringat2 timing belt putus masa balik raya back in 2006. tgh sarat mengandung tuh. miahaha...

anyway, sampai je petang tuh, serang luh Bazaar ramadhan Kuala Ibai. alaaa..dekat Masjid terapung tuh la. Well, as usual , food is abundant.Compared to yesterday
punya Pasar minggu cum Bazaar
Ramadhan kat Tmn Permint Jaya , nih, jauh mercun dari lampu pelita. Sempat jugaklah bersiar2 di Taman Shahbandor kata org sini. gi tgk, in my own words, pesta menjual membeli belah di malam hari bulan ramadhan. Ada jgk brg yg aku tgk overrated. T-Shirt tiruan Hackett London berharga RM150.00? COME ON PEOPLE!!!! printed shirts kedai stationary even looks more realistic tawww!!! Print dia mcm @#$@#$#@ tuh pun nk jual ke? are you guys that desperate? meh aku tolong belikan yg ori dgn harga RM150 jugak. nih kes kirim kat kwn2 yg terbang selalu la...cuma time frame nye, tatau bila...ahaks..

anyway, went to Klinik Kho. Clinic again. Yesterday, if counted continuously, Sofiya having her fever for the 12th days. tapi her fever on-off jugak. But now, she got bad batuk. kesian. if only i could make the pain go away. or at least transfer it to me.
so, untuk mengisi masa lapang, aku wat2 online scrapbooking. mcm post kat bawah and the one i did for Ira and Jay.free beb. tapi, of course, x realistic.

tahun nih, baju raya aku ada.......unintentionally sebenornye. 1 pasang memang dah plan. set ke-dua, aku ter-beli masa g carik baju kakak ipar aku. The 3rd one, bought at the same place at no 2 :D but had to because aku ada 2 kain batik rege RM10 tapi aku suka sgt and aku nk jadikan kain. So, aku sent the 2 to tailors (yg maha lembap tapi hensem :P)...yg penting, aku dpt seblom raya. the 4th one, memandangkan aku ada kain batik extra, aku ingat nk pakai ngan blouse ala2 kebaya aku yg dha bertahun tuh. tapi, hari tuh accidentally bought, again and voila, 4 pairs. nevermind la. bukan aku selalu buat baju raya. Tgk baju2 kak rose, jeles aku. sepanjang bulan posa, kak rose pakai baju kurung and changing everyday. next aim? muhahaha...

so, tgh nak prepare apa2 yg patutla nih. tadik aku basuh baju kurung sofiya yg 2 pasang tuh. duit raya dha masuk sket. nk pi tolong2 kat dapur plak. tanak la dpt title the imbecile daughter-in-law.:D...

oh...selamat menyambur ramadhan al-mubarak. jangan membazir (selalunya berlaku) Jangan dok belasah semua bende yg ada kat pasar ramadhan tuh. aku? biasanya aku beli kuih je. itupun, kuih tradisional yg tak/susah nak jumpa masa2 lain. setakat karipap, popia tuh, aku takkan beli la. pastuh, kalau aku malas nak masak, aku beli sumthing for dinner. masa nih la berlaku pembaziran. sebab kdg2 bende yg dibeli untuk dinner tu lah yg takkan dimakan. klu ok lagi, bole makan untuk sahur. So, beringat2 la masa berbelanja.

2-3 hari nih, ahak memenatkan. Keje kat opis mmg takyah citer la. banyak. aku letih sket sebab minggu lepas ramailah plak org order kerepek untuk makan2 katanya. untuk raya, belum lagi. well, 4th Sept aku tutup order kerepek. so, agak2 kat opis tuh, bulan2 posa malas wat keje, aku ada projek nak wat. nak menyiapkan puzzle2 aku tuh. teringin gak nak jadik distibutor tapi takde fulus. Supplier @ Guangdong, China dah contact aku and agree nak bagi harge special + takyah minimum order of 40 cartons as usually applied to other customers. tapi..fulus tak mengizinkan la...tgkla camana...nah..aku dah siapkan Taj Mahal & Sydney Opera House.

Today, aku nampak satu iklan kat TV. Iklan perfume Hope & Bravo. Comel gile iklan tuh. first time, i dont resent Mawi and peminat Mawi takkan kena marah minah tuh sebab panggil mawi Neanderthal..haha...sirap...haha..the slang..cute...bravo. nice ad so far.

Not forgetting, last Fri was Murthy's last day in TW. I dont really work with him so i will bid him goodbye as fellow Valvian comrades.

A statement from Nanny McPhee. A magical story.yes, it was already aired aeons ago but..i just watched it today in HBO...haha..ketinggalan zaman tul. Adam sure needs her!!! hmm..magical yes, but why she keeps getting younger towards the end of the movie? what is the significant? i don't get it. In the beginning of the story, she was fat and turned out to be so much like Giselle bundchen in th end. why? well, no time to think about it. I also managed to catch Truman in HBO. I kinda hate the story since the ending has no ending. what happen to him after he went out of the..err...studio? where? why? what about? i hate movies that will leave me questioning..it was supposed to be entertaining, at least for me. If i want more riddles and questions, i'd get them in my everyday life.
Like, why do o stop my diets before i even started em? haha. that's why i am very picky of what i am watching. I love CSI. Maybe becoz it provides answers in almost every episode. hmm..Steel magnolias next in HBO...nk play game laa before i go to sleep.

Today is Maulidurrasul and as i tyoed maulidurrasul in google search box, this went :http://www.geocities.com/traditionalislam/MaulidurRasul.htm. Very informative and refreshing knowledge. Tmorrow, Adam's school will be celebrating Maulidurrasul. Below are some few points from the site.

KESIMPULAN

i) Menyambut hari kelahiran Rasulullah disabitkan dengan dalil-dalil syara’.

ii) Disunatkan memperingati maulidurrasul pada bila-bila masa, terlebih utama lagi sempena hari kelahirannya.

iv) Menzahirkan kegembiraan dan kesyukuran atas sebesar-besar nikmat dan rahmat Allah iaitu kelahiran baginda dengan mengerjakan amalan-amalan kebaikan.

v) Menyambut hari kebesaran ini membawa kepada mencintai nabi dan mencintai Allah.

vi) Mendapat ganjaran yang besar di dunia dan akhirat bagi mereka yang menyambutnya.

Thus, while Malaysia is facing it's yet biggest turmoil in history, we all shall sit down and menghayati makna Maulidurrasul kali ini. Sambutan kelahiran nabi junjungan Muhammad SAW mungkin akan memberi ilahm dan cahaya di dalam keadaan sekarang. Insyaallah.

Coincidently, i found a book while browsing for additional books for Adam. something related to "melayu" and possible answers why malays are facing with their downfall. Will sure to grab it later.!!

Taking about Adam, he is getting his exam paper back, gradually. First the maths, 76/100. Since his conduct of english is...err...a bit lower than minimal, he lost marks where english comprehension matters. "More", "Less", puzzled him so much till he lost good 20 marks. The next day, English. i was startled he got 82/100 in English. He lost marks in spelling where he spelled the word "she" as "shi". haha..i couldn't help but laugh. Although it might be his very first exam in standard 1, i am concerned of his capability. He hates going to bookstore let alone reading books. He even cried when i coached him in doing additional works. Am i to strict and pushy? some people encouraged me to send to those mental arithmetics classes. hmm...i have to think about it. But..the 3rd day, the science result was out and with 44/100, i was closed to change into a she-hulk version. As i went through his science paper, i realised it is not his fault. He couldn't understand the instruction. For instance, "I have ____ eyes". He wrote down "eyes" in the blank space. The question was: count the number of the body parts. He knew what eyes are, fingers, hand, foot. I am puzzled tho, since he knew his body parts but still wrote "hands" in the space with arrow towards the "hair". I guess he was out of space at that moment. He's handicapped due to his poor english conduct and i am to blamed right to the core. He may be strong in some other areas but i think when it comes to the details, he might get lost. Not to mention his comprehension and english. Tuition , anyone?

hmmm....sabtu dok umah je. petang je baru kuar.Adam heret besfren Fadhly@Ali skalik..selepas penat mendengar pujukan Adam, yela yelah beli la PS2 dgn duit raya dia. leh aku join skali..bapaknye pun sama. Puas round Alam Sentral. 3-4 kedai pi tanya. ulang -alik. last2 kedai bwh kat The Store jadik pilihan bab reasonable and x menipu. Ingat nk beli kat F3 tuh tapi aku rasa budak 2 ekor tuh men cakap sedap mulut je. aku sure sgt 1st time depa kata Memory card ada masuk skali. Bila tanya 2nd time, takde plak. Ske hati la, bukan business aku. so, aku pun carik kedai lain.So far, so good. He's able to let go of the console when it's meal, play and sleep time..6.30pm pi umah Pak Anjang kat Kg Melayu subang. Dah slalu pegi baru la ni aku dapat cam area tuh. bengap gak aku nih ye. Mak Anjang masak mmg tip-topnye. Esp masak sambal..voila...mmmmmpphuhahhsss...pedas tapi sedap. aku nk try wat sambal mak anjang la.
Balik, PS2 la apa lagi.aku ngan FF nye, adam ngan Mortal Kombatnye, daddy ngan GT nye. tapi semua game tuh aku beat depa sebab laki aku bukan kaki game pun.

Pagi..PS2 lagi. jadik port la umah aku ngan kwn2 adam. Kul 2 giteww kuar nk pi umah Asrani. SMSS94 Open hse. sesat!!!! pastuh, lepas Jeme bagi direction baru dapat. Sonok dpt jumpa memember esp Azizah and Bed Zainal Abidin coz mmg lepas skool x penah jumpa pong!!!
Pastuh, pi umah Mimi kat P9, Putrajaya. aku cepat pegi bila dia kata " sapat, sia buat sutu sabah baini" ahaks...lama tak pekena nooooooooo......anak Mimi baru 6MO tapi alhamdulillah, semangat. lenguh tangan aku dukung....kecik je sofiya dok sebelah dia..balik mlm tuh keerja keras plak...tolong HB ngan paperwork dia sambil prepare utk wat Nasi Minyak & Gulai Ayam..esok ada potluck Open Hse kat opis..penat seyyyyyyyy....

Pagi2 aku dah siap2 kan apa yg patut dibwk..cme aku frust nasi minyak lembek sgt...waaaaa.....takpe, lesson learnt. event went fine. i guess the opn hse organised by muslim staffs is considered successful. our fellow colleagues really appreciate em i guess!!! more pics to b uploaded later...

haa.....finally, 1st day of Ramadhan. Things went as usual except i have to wake up a tad earlier for Sahur. Masa sahur mmg aku nih jenis wallap nasi la. klu ada ikan goreng panas+garing, nasi putih and lada + kicap, alhamdulillah, it completes my day. So last night i prepared fruits, air sirap nata de coco and caramel cocktail. at least, today klu pegi pasar ramadhan, maybe i will just beli kuih, itupun klu ada kuih tradisional yg menarik hati. frankly, aku nih bukak posa ngan kurma, nasi putih + lauk sejenis pun dh cukup. takde kuih pun takpe. lg pun i don't have to worry about not having food for puasa, insyaallah my hubby will go and kalah fomfuan bab2 beli makanan nih...i tell u, mmg dia rambang mata. I've been encouraging Adam to puasa this year. he says he will but if he's thirsty pukul 2 kang mcm mana he said. i wanted to laugh but as the matriarch of the family, i must be firm on this. so, this morning he confirmed that he will puasa today except exactly at 7.10am today, he minum ribena...hahah. and he looked at me "adam puasa kan?" and without further ado, he returned the bottle into the fridge.hmmm....go figure...

The latest baby to Malaysian army

This armor car is very2 new and the latest addition to the army. Well, impressive. i was there @ KL International tatoo spending my Saturday. There were a whole lot of army peeps there. good thing is my fren bought the ticket for us earlier. Reached Stadium Merdeka around 4.30++pm. a tad too early. We had char kuay teow before hitting the exhibition. It was, well, i mean the char kuay teow is edible. that's it. nothing more i could say about it let alone praise the taste. Then, off we go to the exhibition. I was impressed. i saw the internal area of the armor car for the first time in my life and i could say, stuffy!!....how on earth would these peeps last in there?? imagining myself in it, somewhere in deserty country...urghh..not gonna happen..well, i'm gonna attach some slideshow of the events there. KL International tatoo?? did i miss anything? there was only one bike i saw for the whole night. yes, it's the malaysian team and they're supposed to break the record recently but i cudn't catch up. and....in the middle of the show, there was this acrobatics @ gymnastics where these men jumped synchronized-ly. but overall, it was not a tatoo show!! it was more to brass bands' show!! hmm..how many countries there were? Jordan, India, Scotland, US Fleet, Brunei (impressive show) and many more incld Malaysian. So far, the best is still Brunei, entertaining. Scotland team was predictable as i expected some "William Wallace" songs..what? dunno who William is? watch Braveheart not?..ow ok...the infamous song was also played. Nice to hear but i was totally sleepy. poor sofiya, it was drizzling. lucky i did bring my jacket and she was safe and sound wrapped in the jacket. Some good samaritans offered their umbrella seeing i had a baby with me. I refused the nice offer and i am glad to know as there are still good peeps around.hooray...ok..India team - sorry i keep mentioning their country of origin name as i can't remember their full name. all these teams are from their own armed forces i.e. navy. So ok - India team even played the soundtrck of Kabhi Kushi Kabhi gham in the scene where Kajol is praying around the house. yeah i recognized the song coz i love that movie....ok..whatuever, watch the slideshow la...i'll put it up later..I JUST DID..

ok, just in case ur wondering "what's up with the monorail"? that was my 1st time. clinge here, clank there..pretty scary, dun u think? LRT is by far better..excep there's no other trains going to Stadium merdeka except monorail *sigh*
