Thursday, July 9th, 11pm.
3 buses of Mitra Travel & Tour ferried 120pax of Transwater staffs and tour guides from Glenmarie to Merang Jetty. I couldn't recall much of the journey since i was sound asleep most of the times. Not even when they had 2 pitstops for toilet and supper. I,however, managed to wave at customers (as if they saw me!) when we went through the plant area in Kerteh. Then, back to sleep again.

When Azhar called me for Subuh stop, then only i managed to force my eyes wide open.We reach Merang Jetty around 8am (max) and immediately scurried for breakfast. Little while later, being a large group, we had to regroup, say i when names were called and bags were tagged accordingly.

Voila, we were on the Laguna ferry in no time. The 45mins journey were quite boring if not for Azhar, Shafiq, Faizal and the group. No need to elaborate further as those who know them will know what mischiefs they were up to.

Reaching Laguna Resort at 10 didn't mean we could check in immediately. After a short briefing by Harris (a blue eyed brown colored guide) who was famous for his reindition of "to the left, to the left", we moved towards to Resort and had fun in beach futsal, snapping uninteresting photos, checking out beach babes, and hot guys we never knew exist in TW. sadly, there were not much of Brad Pitts, Tom Cruises, Josh Hartnetts around for us to gawk at. These all happened while waiting for lunch at 12 at the lobby. Yes, we could only check in after lunch @ 1.30pm. How tiring...

I shared my pool-view room with Lee Na and Hanizah and they were such great roommies! Thanks gurls (for whatever it is..hahah)..Our roomw as supposed to be seaview but upon checking, the view was not that great after all.

We had 2 snorkeling trips - Deepsea (lots of dead corals) and Marine Park (congested but nice view). I took my underwater pix here in Marine Park. The ferries will be arranged by the resort and a ticket is required for the Marine Park trip (can get from Laguna Recreation centre). This info was not widely circulated although the guides deny it. sigh..nvmd.

Whatelse. oh yeah. We had our telematch on Sat, July 11 at 2.30pm! We were close to burn like roast chicken. But it was fun..for them. I don't do telematch. maybe 1-2 games. I was the self-appointed Team Manager and i arrange who will be playing which games. hahaha....

Overall, our group - Group 1- was at the 3 rd place with RM200 Jusco voucher and the much awaited prize was the RM200 + RM300 CASH PRIZE (RM300 by dear Mr Kong) for creativity game. And we won! Affizie being the turtle and i could see the teamwork was fab! Thanks guys.

What can u do in Laguna Resort apart from Snorkeling and diving and chasing sea dwellers out of their wits? Well, the pool is nice, sleep deprived guests can replenish their energy, sunbathing by the beach. Try snorkeling at the water in front of Redang Beach Resort. I saw 3 baby black-tipped sharks. If you read this in 2011, they might have grown bigger now. I even saw a squid! i was ecstatic as i've never seen one alive!

For imsomniacs or happening people, Laguna is equipped qith KTV rooms and they also have public karaoke up until 10pm. Order drinks and sing your heart away. What happens after 10? dance baby dance..the song choices were not bad at all.. The nearing resorts also have their own bar + disco and i heard they even had babes waering 2 piece bikinis dancing away...i heard only la..

i don't like the food. Yup, definitely. I only like the coffee. Period.
whatelse? hmm..The live band was ok and i was surprise to see Simon Chow even bought a round of drink for the singers. Not bad.

July 12-Sunday. Time to leave.
Check-0ut at 10.30am and the ferry left at 12noon. Again, do as you please. I had fun busking at the lobby. Ou boat was stranded at the "muka kuala" Merang jetty for about 30mins and people started to get sick. Maybe the seawater level didn't permitted the ferry to go through and a boat had to tarik us into the jetty.

We stopped at Bidong for some keropok lekor...OMG!! mesti theowner happy gilak seeing 3 buses full of hungry peeps hugging the store..

Komuter oh! Komuter

This morning, i had the privilege of taking the commuter to Subang Jaya station form Setia Jaya. It was only 5 mins away from respective station and nothing has changed since the last time i boarded one.

Why i took the commuter? don't ask. The company i work with has generously subsidized a bus / van shuttle from Kelana Jaya LRT Station via Subang Jaya Commuter station to reach Glenmarie. The staff only has to pay a fraction tiny winy RM30 per month. But it's not about the shuttle bus today.

I used to take the commuter to work like 10 years and about 6 years ago when i worked in KL and Bangsar respectively. Nothing has changed. For example, this morning, the next train heading towards Klang Port was scheduled at 7.23. At 7.30am, no sign of the commuter. I think they had 2 annoucements. Why i said i think? because the loudspeaker DIDN'T WORK! How on earth would they think that we, the commutees, know what was happening when the loudspeaker was kaput? Then, shortly after, the head of a train came into view. It's perfectly normal except the yellow blue commuter train was, how to say this, towed by the head. I don't care. As long as the train has arrived. My officemate feedback later: the commuter with head didn't stop at Kg Dato Harun's station. I guessed this special train only stops at crowded stations. so, she missed her train and luckily there was another one 5 mins after.

come on la. No need to talk about the lousy schedule. The very instrument required to tell people of the delay @ lousy schedule also don't work. Some people may say "eh! you don't know what KTM is facing la". In that case, why ask me to pay the tax if this not-free service is not reliable? Really pity those poeple who rely on this mode of transportation. Like this girl this morning, she missed her ride to from the next station.

What does it take this time? YB Najib has to turun padang?

My latest update: 2 weeks every working day at Fitness First. Sampai pancit. adeshh..but fun la..at least some calories are being burned than nothing. must continue. Most people are point blank SALAH. I joined Fitness First NOT because i want to lose weight. I can do that even w/o joining FF. I want to rev up my metablic rate. I want to be physically active, again. Manatau leh join Bootcamp Msia as Instructor..kuangkuangkuang...After i reach those, losing weight will be the confirmed byproduct. Via healthier means.

Flojo, no more maggi with tulur. Mau naik 800cal 1 serving kalau itu macam.
Neng, maybe we can "cycle" together for 5km everyday. everytime on the cycle machine, musti ingat kau. i wonder how u can do it...i am trying my hardest...

Looking forward to: company's Redang Trip July 9th-12th. i hope it's gonna be fun. (frankly, i have no tingling feeling about this trip. dont know why.it's bad. for me). But look at Laguna's Redang view~ nice eh?

Lots of going ons with work nowadays. Frustation on human behaviour. My own expectation on my seniors which frustates me even more. New challenges at work and few more headcounts to train. Now, that is fun and what make the office sounds fun nowadays.

Yeay..good for her! hehe..ok My niece got a place in UITM shah alam to do her accountancy-banking related degree. I'm happy for her but i will be more happier if she got UTM Skudai indtead. Why? her elder sister is there. Enough said. Me? well, i can help her during registration, look for room, and check on her once in a while but she's an adult. I don;t want to interfere her adult life hehe..our relationship is although not so close (since we lived mostly apart) but we're not stuck to the traditional auntie-niece relationship.

enough said. My point is, lucky her registration is on the July 5th. My trip to Redang will be on July 9th.

Yesterday, June 15th, i was having a chit cah twith one of the organiser of the said trip who by the way, will not be joining us for the trip. My comment: The trip shall be organised by people who WILL JOIN the trip itself. Do not rely on travel agents whatsoever because we are the one who's going to go the journey and we know our colleagues better.

It's gonna be a 3D2N trip and we will move from KL about 11pm on July 9th, Thursday, So, we shall be having lunch in Laguna Redang Resort by July 10th, Friday.
Friday afternoon, Sat AM & PM - will have activity such as 2 x snorkeling trips and 1 x jungle trekking. I was kind of curious of the trekking part and i did some research on the net.
The trekking will not be as tough as trekking in Taman Negara as it is viewed more on bird-watching activity and running around in some bushes..hehe

Sounds fine by me UNTIL i was told the trekking MAYBE replaced with TELEMATCH. OMG!!!!
We had our telematch during family day and please do not let another one in this trip!!!
Since the idea of this trip is getting away from all the headaches rather than a teambuilding trip, then do not do any telematch at all unless the telematch will comprise of activities for adults aka teambuilding-based activity. Even so, it will definitely ruin my fun, at the least.
I think telematches are reserved for school sports day, comp family day, kindergarden open day, apartment social day, etc. and now i am gonna have a telematch in my supposedly-relaxing company trip? oh well, i may as well watch only and do my own things. who am i to go against them.

Upon polite-questioning with one of committee, yeah, they did the research on the trekking and the fact that it's one of the activity in the things to do in Redang was not even put into consideration. The excuse i get was what about those staffs who will present MC la, doc letter la, etc. Then i asked again, what about those staffs who want to do all those activity? what about us? why only think of them? we're not so damn very important meh????
Then , there's the queastion of MANDATORY word usage. If they intends to make it MANDATORY for people to join the telemactch, why can't they do the same for the trekking/hiking? No people ever DIE during hiking in Redang you know. urghghhh.....

Do we really need another resthouse on Mount Kinabalu?

Reading thru The Star and images of 2 young doctors from Peninsular Malaysia in Penampang in their bid to understand the locals hardship to get proper medcare, warms up my heart. The bid of parent of Errica Rendey Banyan from Kapit, Sarawak for some help in meeting their daily expenses while Errica is having her treatment in KL next month, touched my heart. Do we really need another resthouse on Mount Kinabalu?

The last project was halted after the protest by environmental group including by The Sabah Environmental Protection Association (Sepa) in 2006 and today, it came out in The Star that the state governmnet would like aka "is reviewing" to proceed with the RM4.35mil 4-storey steel resthouse-cum-restaurant project on Layang-Layang.

Heck, maybe at last, the state gov has seen that their move to privatise the service at Laban Rata was a mistake. Why? it is getting costlier to climb mount Kinabalau compared to 1985 when the climbers had the fun to cook their own meal or buy from the canteen. I wasn't there but some bloggers who happen to be avid climbers did. Maybe is is because package climber get the priority to climb compared to non-hotel guests. Maybe Sabah Parks need this project to provide cheaper facilities to the climbers as way of saying sorry. Maybe even to avoid people not climbing the old grandma anymore.

I like to call her Grandma because she looks like a Grandma to me haha (i AM talking about Mount Kinabalu, you know). From several blogs, i can read the locals and tourists do love her. Maybe it's the view, maybe it's in the ambience or the nice feeling she radiates everytime. heck, i have never climbed her but everytime i sang along to "Sayang-sayang Gunung Kinabalu" or even look at her, i get this warm, soothing feeling. Yeah, i am a psycho.

The article in the paper reminds me of the protest 3 years ago and now, those majestic images being ruined by civilisation is haunting me. where got la....i am a psycho, remember. But any development, civilisation will have impact on the nature. Tell me which one does not. But if you ask my immature, amateur, non-climber view - the project will definitely stir things up and will affect the environment up there. Can we de-privatise the current resthouse? Or maybe demolish the unspoken law of non-hotel guests will fill the last few vacant spots in the climbing list? Or lower the lodging + food cost up there?

Or maybe the locals politicians are too scared of voicing out these against the conglomerate for the fear of their own rice bowl?Or maybe someone's commission is being cutoff? These maybe wild allegations, assumptions but then tell me, why the state is even reviewing the project when the current situation is in dire need of review/rectification/reconsideration? From where i see it, the state gov is trying their best to take care of rich people heart by saying "let's move on" instead of taking into consideration the feeling of the locals? How sure are they that this project WILL NOT affect the environment whatsoever? Oh i forgot, If they have successfully helped demolishing the "20 Perkara", alaaa....how much la does it take to demolish the pride of being a Sabahan and a proud member of a state home to the Mount Kinabalu? Why don't ya levelled the mount altogether? ohh i forgot. Their ricebowls lay in Laban Rata.

Oh no, another images flash through- the major landslides in Bukit Antarabangsa. Though the area is , well, a mountain of rocks but tempering with the natural rock formation, etc is a scary idea for me. Blasting rocks to give way for a concrete building foundation seems odd to me. It's not natural at all. What's wrong with camping? Setting up tents are fun. Moreover, there is no confirmation whatsoever that the cost of climbing will go down as the only statement that came out in the press was" it could be cheaper?".

Well, It will be protested again by the environmental groups i tell you. We have enough of wrongdoing and we have perfected our skills in ruining mother nature. I don't need another skill and "Accomplishment" in my resume. Buli Bah Kalau Kau!!!!!!!!!!!

MELBOURNE, May 14 — A restaurant owner who brought a Malaysian to Melbourne to work as a chef and paid him less than A$10,000 (RM27,000) over 18 months has been fined A$180,000.

Businessman Hong Poh Meng and his company, Penang Kayu Nasi Kander Ltd, which traded as Kayu@Boxhill, admitted breaching 11 workplace laws, including underpaying a full-time cook A$76,000, the Australian Associated Press (AAP) reports.

Two 19-year-old casual waitresses were underpaid A$4,876 and A$899 respectively.

Hong was fined A$25,000 and the company was penalised A$158,400 in the Melbourne magistrates court yesterday for the breaches, which occurred between 2005 and 2007.

Workplace Ombudsman executive director Michael Campbell said Hong admitted bringing the Malaysian national to Melbourne and then paying him just A$9,650 for 18 months' work in his restaurant.

"This was less than 12 per cent of the minimum amount the man was entitled to receive," Campbell said in a statement.

"This sort of blatant exploitation is completely unacceptable."

AAP said the company repaid the cook A$10,600 and the two waitresses a combined amount of A$805 after the Workplace Ombudsman began investigating the case in 2007.

But magistrate Kate Hawkins ordered the company to pay the chef A$65,341 in outstanding wages and another A$4,128 and A$841 to the waitresses.

She said the cook was subjected to a "pattern of exploitation" and was particularly vulnerable because of his immigration status.

The underpayments were "staggering" and "defied belief", Hawkins said. — Bernama

How do we know what is the minimum wages we should be drawing? Apart from the JOBSTREET info / comparison, i don't really know. Is it depends on our outlook? attitude? ways of kissing people's a@@? hehe...

Here we go again

For the umpteenth time, i had to hail a cab to office this morning. Don't ask why.
There was even a time when i took cabs to work every morning. I have read in the paper/email.etc how cabbies push their luck when it comes to cab fare. Mind you, Glenmarie area is not popular amongst cabbies as they will either take you in and ask for extra RM2 or RM3, or they will say "tak pegi laa". Why do i get the impression that cabbies are supposed to go where we want them to? Movies? or it is supposedly to be that way..i don't even know now. There were only 2-3 times where the cabbies didn't ask for extra fare and there were even 2 special incidents. Why? Both cabbies asked for a RM7.00 fare one-way to my office and i agreed. When we reached the office, the meter was running at RM7.90 and RM8.20 respectively. To my surprise, both driver asked for the fare agreed earlier!! I should have asked for their numbers!! What i did? of course, i paid as per the meter as i pity them since Persiaran Kewajipan in Subang Jaya could be very2 unnnerving in the morning, sometimes.

Despite the 2 wonderful incidents, i have my own reserved opinion on drivers that some people may not like em such as:
1. Usually, i observe the way how the cabby approach the waiting area. If the cabby drive fast and stop suddenly, i will not take that cab. Why? based on past experience, they could be very picky where you're going and demand for extra fare. And some of them are not pleasant to deal with.

2. I observe the look of the driver himself (i never had a female cabby) and the outlook of the cab itself. First impression is very2 important to me when taking a cab. Fierce looking driver is a no-no for me. Takut seyy.

Imagine you're in Bandar Sunway PJ and going to Glenmarie area. How much is the fare? By the meter, it usually ranges from RM5.50 to RM7.00 on normal traffic day depending on which route is taken and could be more (but less than RM9.50) during heavy traffic. However, there are some undeserving souls who demands for an extra of RM10.00, or even put a RM15.00 or RM20.00 fare /way. Come on. Asking for an extra of RM2 is still acceptable considering in Glenmarie, very rarely will have people hailing cabs. and the fact if the driver is an old-man. But RM20 per way?

What about those cabbies who simply decline passengers when the destinations does not fit in their route? Just 3 days ago, i watched a lovely young lady tried her best and only managed to get a cab at the 7th try. I wonder where she wanted to go but come on, it was 8am in the morning, she was all dressed up to work, and how far could she go at that time? Perak? Then there was this young man with similar fate. Then there was this English man from my office who said KLIA instead of KL to the cab company. If you were the cab driver, what would you do? Remember, you have driven all the way to Glenmarie. Yes, the cabby didn't want to ferry the poor lad to KL.

so, are we at the mercy of the cabbies? Isn't there anything , we could do? at all? I am sure, lots of other unfortunate souls especially Klang Valley dwellers have at certain point faced the same predicaments as i, and many others faced when it comes to cabbies. For me, i now have a special cabby who do not wait for me but we happened to cross path so many mornings. Yes, he's willing to drive me to office and i don't even have to ask him . I just jumped into his cab. The fare? fixed at RM10.00/way.

Janna has spoken! yeah yeah..it's been some time since i write in the much abandoned blog..here goes some of the highlight of my life for the past 2-3 months (nuthin much interesting ey?..hahaha)

ok..finally, we had our SMSSBAT OF 94 reunion in Malacca after months of planning. I am not gonna details here since it's all plastered all over my FB. But, it was nice seeing those people especially the lepak-ing session sampai pagi. laki/bini/anak dok bilik, kami dok berborak sampai hantu laut pun dah menguap..

There are happenings in office with some people leaving, joining, promotions, re-organisation of Valve Division, re-structuring or branch office, re-designation, etc etc. At the end of the day, it's just work and nothing else. I just spend my Wesak holiday yesterday meeting (work related, duhh) on the handover of ECO accounts to ECO Team. I will be handling EMO accounts in sabah/sarawak, here comes the not-so-notorious zatul. :P..foyo...


Just last weeks, my grandmother passed away. May peace be with her. Al-Fatihah. She was 90++? 100++? we couldn't tell since the records those days were not reliable. Anyways, i went back to Keningau for a week with my Muar-based sister. It was a refreshing trip not only going through new way to Keningau via Kimanis, it was one of the time i managed to catch a glimpse of our family's past. I have few question answered and i like it.

I've been trying to arrange for a reunion/mini gathering of ex-YS students but to no avail, at the moment. I will try again. It seems like everyone's is supa-busy. Another mini-gath is on the way for all ex-trasnwaterians and existing staffs for suka2 purpose. i like! see u guys on 5th June.

So, Happy mother's day to all mothers in the world. I have wished my mom and mom-in-law this morning. There will be a Mother's Dayt celebration in my Kampung on 23rd May form am to PM with activities such as aerobic, telematch, football match, cooking contests, some cake cutting event in the evening and gift giveouts to all mothers (of course form their children la). Maybe i shall be looking for one and send to my mom all the way from here.

Saturday - Feb 28th.

 Wah...semangat. woke up early for the paintball thingy eventhough hubby not here (3D2N @ LUmut for company outing...damn!!!).

 It all begun on Thurday, 26th Feb, 2pm. Luke skywalker from Paintball Valley@ Taman Pertanian Malaysia came and gave us briefing on the paintball session we're gonna have on sat.

 So, Jay picked me up at the bus stop along the Fed Hiway nearby the Setia Jaya Komuter Station. Easier than driving all the way to my flat. A good thing though, by the time i reached his previous 2nd half, i am already all warmed up and charged!! anyway, so sorry for my tardiness..heheh...bangun awal but the tv cartoon show was good lar...muahahah...

 so, off we go to pick up Peter @ the office and sprinted to Taman Bukit Cerakah. It was about 8++am when we reached there and most of the people are already there. But hey, the park is supposedly opens at 9am right? then why ask people to come at 8? Ya lar...we all know Malaysians are so typical ..but statistically we all do arrive 1/2 hour late than the specified date..but rarely 1 hour..and pity those who really come before 8am...what we can do? Ask them who came later pay by themselves la (the entrance fee)..happened to Kumar & En Rafran (maybe they can claim later?)..or if the journey is jauuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh....call them 15 mins after the designated time. and after 30mins WITHOUT any response or valid reason ("on the way" is qite valid la), leave em la..what..think other people got nothing else better to do ka? Like last time when i was the OC for the Teambuilding @ Perak, there was 1 girl who's tardiness was so irritating...30mins after 8am, she was "on the way"..after 15mins interval still no sign of her and there wasn't any , at least, sms of her whereabouts..i already setup mymind and was discussing with the driver to leave her when she showed up!! talking about manners....urghh....

 anyway, we managed to go in at..i forgot to look at the time and got on a bus...vroom vroom and behold, the HQ of Paintball Valley @ Taman Pertanian Malaysia. This place is a homebase for DELTA group and also for Rejimen 66. They have 7 paintball fields and we had the opportunity to play at Arcadia, Scorpion's Nest and...the filed where we had to take control of the tower for 5-minutes. haha. We started with breakfast first and of course, cannot expect the food to be of restaurant or atleast mamak rest level la..this is junle for god's sake and roti, sardines, baked beans, kaya, jam are good enough already. what were you expecting? French toast? Then after waiting, final briefing about the rules and safety (which will be forgotten in the fields when the adrenaline rushed in) and groups were segregated. I was in Bravo group along with Lokman, Faizol, Fiza, Yatie, Syed Idris, and ..hmm..who else...

 The first Game:

Arcadia field...similar to those we see in the padang ie. padang utara, subang, but with uneven jungle floor, and cardboards as bunkers..Alpha vs Bravo and i didn't know the enemy was in fornt of me coz i didn't recognize him (Nik)..hahaha...buduh..i was shot at the right wrist by Kamales. My gun was jammed ...damn...i think Alpha won. Each side got flag and to win the team has to raise the opponent's team..

 2nd Game:

Bravo vs C..what was C name again? this time @ scorpions's nest. This was where you got the jungle feel. Of course there were bunkers. The best parts were:

1. Syed, lokman and i were bersembunyi behind the same bunker when the bullets came like monsoon rain. haha.

2. Yatie's gun was jammed and the marshall tried to fix it and gave Lokman a headshot indtead..haha

3. During both times, my gun was jammed @ out of gas and so does 4 others...how to play? mencik!!! C group got the flag, i think laa...i saw nafisah behind the bunker and her tudung gave her away...but cannot get a clean shot since they were saved by the net..cesss...

4. During the above, the Marshall angrily shouted at the C group for firing when our group were down due to technical problem..azhar kot? hehhe (panas panas!!!)

 In this game, the flag will be put at the centre and both teams has to grab it first come first serve.

 3rd game:

Bravo vs Delta

 This was where we all had to try to capture the tower and hold it for 5 minutes to win. I was running towards the tower and after 50m from the post, my pellet container fell!!!! bodoh kan...so what it's not like i can kutip the pellets..so i went back to the HQ and got another canister..one of the marshall gave a stupid remark " TU LAH..LARI2 LAGI...KAN DAH JATUH" oi b@$#@#....memang la lari..then waht? jalan???? my reply was sumthing like " APAHAL PLAK...ORG YG BUAT MAINTENANCE TAK BETUL LA..TAK KETAT KAN CANISTER"...senyap after that...buduh...

 this time Hanizah's group was aggresive..and yet we managed to capture the tower...after sometime i was tired...couldn't find a good spot and since Syed has consumated all his pellets, i gave mine to him...and relax kat post...nga ng nga...... 

Then, finish...i shower and lunch la after that...maybe everybody was eager to leave or simply tired...but there was no closing and the group photo didn't consists of everyone..next time, pls do this..very2 important...why? then group's objectives are not achieved la...arrive as a team, leave as a team..but what can i say..maybe everyone was simply tired...

 and i pulak regret coz x managed to take photos of more interesting things, people, places during the games...blur kot masa tuh...

 anyway, thanks to Transwater Management and Kamales for organising such outings...if there's next time, i urged others to join...but not me kot..hehe..not my forte la...kalay Skytrex lain cerita (also in Bukit Cerakah), abseling, panjat2, wall climbing, trekking, bring it on bebeh!!!
